We all know that wine is a vital category that helps drive footfall, sales and profits – which is why Booker’s team dedicates so much time and effort to scouring the globe for fantastic new wines that will help give its catering customers the edge they need. Booker has recently unveiled a selection of new wines from Old World countries like Fance and Italy as well as New World stars like Australia and South Africa. The expert team of buyers have hand-picked this new selection to help ensure that you have a fantastic quality and great value option to meet every one of your customers’ requirements. France France remains the spiritual home of wine in many customers’ eyes and to this day it still produces some of the best quality wines available, packed full of flavour, character and heritage. Wines like the two new options from La Baume La Grand Olivette. Both the Merlot and the Sauvignon Blanc deliver that unmistakable essence of French winemaking. The Merlot is beautifully round and opulent on the palate and is bursting with juicy red fruits while the Sauvignon Blanc has classic aromas of white pear and peach followed by vibrant tropical fruits on the palate. Both are available at just £43.99 a case.
Italy The vibrancy and deep flavours of Italian wines have always set them apart and this is certainly true of the new wines available from Booker. The Chianti and the Pinot Grigio Friuli DOC from Sant’Orsola are fantastic examples and jammed full of flavour. The wines are available at £40.99 a case. Or perhaps consider the new La Toledana Gavi Di Gavi DOCG or the La Sucule Barbera? Often referred to as the ‘Chablis of Italy,’ Gavi is crisp, fresh and citrussy while the Chianti shines an intense ruby red and has typical aromas of rose petals, ripe red fruit and just a hint of vanilla. Both wines cost £58.99 a case.
Australia Booker’s buying team has secured the pick of the bunch from Australia with two new wines, a white and a red. The white is The Pick Chardonnay, an elegant wine featuring stoned fruit, cream, nuts and toast while The Pick Shiraz bursts with dark plum, black cherry, raspberry and blackberry fruit. These wines are available at the fantastic price of just £33.99 a case.
South Africa South African wine has long enjoyed an enviable reputation for reliable wines and three new premium wines from One Formation are now available from Booker that are set to enhance that reputation. The new lines include two reds – a Shiraz/Grenache/Viognier blend and a Grenache Noir – and one white, a Chenin Blanc / Sauvignon / Grenache Blanc blend. All three are fine examples of the winemaker’s art and would enhance any wine menu. These truly fine wines are available from Booker at £58.99 a case. Is it time you added some new excitement to your wine list with some of these outstanding new wines?
