In modern times, Independence Day is a national holiday in the US, often associated with patriotic displays of fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs and picnics.
4th July 2014 falls on a Friday, and provides pubs with a great opportunity to create a themed event to draw in the crowds. Flags could be hung in your venue, with special menus made up to celebrate - easy, tasty food, highlighted on internal and external blackboards is bound to be a winner.
