Invite Booming Bank Holiday Trade!

Date released:  25th April 2013

Spice up your menu with Chef's Larder...

The popularity of Mexican food in the UK just seems to grow and grow, so we’ve introduced an exciting new catering wholesale product to our Chef’s Larder range.

Brand new Chef’s Larder Tortilla Chips, available in Chilli or Tangy Cheese flavour, come in a great value 454g bag.

Smoother them with re-fried beans, guacamole, sour cream and melted cheese for an authentic, moreish treat.
The Early May Bank Holiday is a great chance to attract customers to your restaurant or pub and keep them coming back throughout the summer season. If you impress them now, you’ll be first in their mind for an al fresco pint as the summer season unfolds.

So how do you create the ‘wow factor’ over the Bank Holiday?

First of all, it’s worth checking what is happening in your local area. A quick scan of the internet shows that there are thousands of events taking place over the Bank Holiday Weekend, from carnivals and town parades to beer festivals folk performances.

If a popular event is taking place near you, make sure you tailor the customer experience accordingly. For example, if you’re located near theatres, you could offer an express, pre-theatre dinner, so customers know they won’t miss the show.

If there is a parade passing through your town, you could offer take-away chips and hotdogs so that families can eat whilst watching the action outside. Not sure where to start? Just have a chat with the staff at your local Booker branch about the food wholesale options available.

If things are looking quiet in your area, create an event of your own. Beer and cider festivals tend to be popular, as is live music. If you get some warmer weather, a barbecue can really bring in customers, or why not offer free food for kids? Whatever you decide to do, make sure you start your marketing activities early, and advertise far and wide.

So the crucial question- what’s the weather going to be like? Well don’t hold us to this (we specialise in wholesale, not meteorology), but the Met Office are predicting very different weather in different parts of the country. Those living in the west and central parts of the country will see sunny spells and higher than average temperatures, whilst those near the East coast will experience chilly winds and cloudy skies.

At Booker we’re currently running some great food wholesale deals on ice-cream, but we’re also featuring everything you need to make a warming roast dinner in our ‘Prices Locked Down’ leaflet! To view either option, just click on the ‘Spring Season’ tab when you log in to Booker.co.uk.
