Carbon Trust

The Carbon Trust Standard is a biennial voluntary certification and mark of excellence that enables organisations to demonstrate their success in cutting their carbon footprint.

In August 2019, Booker became the first company to achieve four certifications to the Carbon Trust Standard for the second time. These standards recognise on going reductions in 1) carbon emissions, 2) water use and 3) waste reduction as well as the achievement of sending 4) zero waste to landfill.

It is Booker's sixth consecutive Carbon Trust Standard which now verifies twelve years of continuous emissions reductions. Booker are the only wholesaler to hold this accolade. In twelve years we have saved almost 14,000 tCO2e, which is equal to a family driving for 44 million miles. These awards demonstrate Booker’s long term commitment to successfully measuring, managing and reducing our carbon footprint, despite growing sales by £2.6bn.
